Born in the United Kingdom and a long time resident of Turkey, Vanessa divides her time between her two "homes". As an international teacher and educator, Vanessa's life has been enriched by encounters with children and adults from very different backgrounds. For the past three years, she has focused her career on freelance online health-related writing. She loves the freedom of being able to work from anywhere.

Hélène Corbie

Daughter of peasants, I held my first camera at the age of 12 to tell the world in pictures. My favourite subjects: agriculture, ecology, resource management, territorial inequalities... As a versatile journalist, I am a photojournalist, editor, presenter and editor if necessary, after several experiences in the news in France and in foreign offices. Co-director of "Maman, j'ai raté l'actu !", a podcast for 8-12 year olds, I lead media education workshops.

Marc Cheb Sun

Marc Chebsun has contributed to various collective works with Edgar Morin, Pascal Blanchard, Lilian Thuram, and Maboula Soumahoro. His debut novel, Et je veux le monde (published by JC Lattès and later by Livre de poche), was released in 2021. He directed L’histoire de l’esclavage et de la traite négrière (Librio, 2022). His new novel, Et bang!, is set for release on November 14, 2024, by Multikulti Editions, for which he also created the accompanying music. He designs numerous workshops for young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods and is the founder of the media outlet Dailleursetdici.news.

Walid Hajar Rachedi

Co-founder of Frictions and Publication Director

After growing up in the Paris region, Walid Hajar Rachedi spent seven years in the United States and Latin America, notably in Brazil and Mexico. He is the co-founder and managing editor of Frictions. He is the author of Qu'est-ce que j'irais faire au paradis? (Emmanuelle Collas, 2022, J'ai lu, 2023) and Nos Destins sont liés (Emmanuelle Collas, 2023). In 2022, he was a finalist for the Prix Goncourt du 1er roman 2022, the Prix Orange du Livre and the Prix Senghor du premier roman.
